Historic Haciendas: A different way to enjoy your vacations

When we think about what to do during our vacations, we tend to ignore this beautiful part of Yucatan’s local tourist places. Maybe because you didn’t know they are not just used for big events or parties. There are lots of things to do in the Haciendas.
For example, In Hacienda Sotuta de Peon where not only visitors are guided through the antique machinery exhibit by Mayan guides, but also literally travel back in time, transported on wooden platforms called «Trucks» which are pulled by ‘mules’ over Cauville rails, as were originally used by the workers.
There are plenty of options to choose, like Hacienda Teya, whose restaurant is famous for its typical food and has been visited by many celebrities such as Hilary Clinton or Queen Sofia of Spain.
And these are just two examples of how Haciendas can turn into a different way to enjoy your vacations, just look how many haciendas Yucatan Peninsula has and find the one that you feel is more to your pleasantness.
