The pop singer and songwriter Taylor Swift announced a big surprise to her fans on Friday, the 30th on her Instagram account.
In a post that has over 9 million likes, and in a letter on her website, Swift shared that she has finally repurchased her first six albums after a long-fought battle with well-known artist manager Scooter Braun.
In her very detailed letter, Swift mentions that she not on only owns the rights to her first masters, but also her music videos, concert films, unreleased songs, album art, and photographs. Her entire legacy is now hers at last.

«I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now,» she wrote.
She thanked her fans for their passionate support of her «Taylor’s Version» project, in which she re-recorded four of her albums, with only Reputation and her self-titled debut album remaining to be released.
She also noted that, due to the huge success of her world tour, «The Eras Tour«, she was able to buy back her music.
But many fans are wondering, what will happen to the two albums still left to release?
According to Taylor, she hasn’t even re-recorded a quarter of Reputation. She mentioned that the album was so specific to that time in her life, that she kept hitting a stopping point whenever she tried to remake it.
Swift mentioned that there will be a moment for the «vault tracks» (which are the unreleased songs that she recorded during that era) to shine.
«I’ve already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now.» Those two albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that is something you guys would be excited about» she wrote.
Back in 2020, Braun sold her first six albums to Shamrock Capital for $300 million U.S. Dollars, without her knowledge, after purchasing them from Big Machine Records, where Taylor had originally recorded them.
So what’s next for Taylor?
Swift has been keeping a low profile away from the spotlight with boyfriend Travis Kelce, but they have been slowly easing back into the public eye.
Taylor and Travis were seen very cozy on Thursday night watching the Stanley Cup Final. They even took selfies with very lucky fans. Who better to celebrate your massive achievement with than your boyfriend and your fans!
