Planes para Semana Santa con bajo presupuesto

Planes para Semana Santa con bajo presupuesto

WELCOME to the Language Section of the university´s  electronic newspaper.

This week Level 6 students of English have written ideas about what YOU can do during vacations without spending so much money.  Hope you like their tips.  And remember there may be some minor errors in their writing, but they have made a big effort to express themselves in their 2nd language.

Merida: Capital of Culture

Merida is a charming city, full of culture and fun; it has a wide range of places to visit, many of them in the “City´s Heart”, the Historic Center, and other magical places like parks.  And the best part is that many attractions are free or are at a very low cost!

If you want to visit the most important parts, a city tour is offered in a nice double deck bus; it has many stops, some in cultural places, like Parque de las Americas.  This park was inspired by the Mayan culture, and there are cultural events every day. If you like to walk, you can visit other beautiful parks every one with a Colonial church. Other places to visit is the Parque de la Paz and in front Parque Zoologico del Centenario, The Zoo is visited by many families every weekend. If you want to hear how real Mérida sounds go to Parque de Santa Lucia, or to the Parque de las Madres to hear the “Trova Yucateca”.

It looks as if Merida was designed to be the Capital of Culture. You always have some place to visit and feel the Cultural Spirit.
